In humanities I worked on our mask project and different society.
The way I grew up was hard. My dad would work all day while my mom would stay home, take me and my sister to school, and make dinner every night for us. My parents would fight often until my mom got tired of my dad’s drinking and the fighting constantly. She left. My mom and my dad got divorced. She lost everything, she had nothing, no job, nothing. So she got herself together. She made a business for herself and started cleaning houses. She did it all for us, so me and my sister could have a better life. Growing up this way, with a lot of yelling made me develop a lot of anxiety and anger issues. Now when someone starts to raise their voice at me, I break down. I’ll never drink because of how I saw my dad act when he was drinking.Sometimes I think about these things at school, and it affects my ability to focus. I’ve had trouble focusing for a long time. I can do better in certain environments. I tend to do better in quiet places that are calm. I also do better when I trust the people around me and have a good relationship with them. Animas High School has fewer people, which makes it quieter and better for me in general. The way that people grow up in different societies, the different things parents tell them to believe or to do with their life. Everyone learns different things that people say to them at school. The way people treat each other is all about the society they grew up in. If they were abused they are most likely going to be mean to others. Even growing up in a family where there was a lot of yelling can give people mental damage and anxiety depression that can take years to recover from.
